“You don’t decide anything!” – the Rada boycotted Zelensky’s decision
The decision of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to cancel the military parade on Independence Day means nothing.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy stated this during the plenary session, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday President Zelensky announced cancellation of the traditional military parade for the Independence Day of Ukraine. I’m offended by this decision, but whether the parade will take place is not up to them to decide. For patriots of Ukraine, Independence Day is the main holiday, because many generations of Ukrainians gave their lives for independence and statehood. Thousands of our contemporaries, the best sons and daughters of Ukraine, died for independence in the new war with imperial Russia, which has been going on for five years.
To honor the immortal feat of the Day of Heroes, I call on everyone who fought and fought for the will of Ukraine - participants in the Revolution of Dignity, veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian War, volunteers, military personnel, on August 24, 2019, go to Khreshchatyk and march through the independence parade on the main street of the country! called the speaker.
Parubiy was also supported by deputy and National Battalion volunteer Oksana Korchinskaya.
“You canceled the parade. The honor of the nation, the honor and dignity of soldiers cannot be bought for one thousand hryvnia. Yesterday we had nine wounded, this month - 400 wounded, among them four volunteers. They are now in hospitals and clinics, they will need to be cared for in the same way as the other 20 thousand wounded during the five years of war. Do you want to be different from the previous president? Give Feofaniya for the rehabilitation of our soldiers. Your hospital, which is under you, under the president, should be a rehabilitation center for our soldiers.
You have an appeal in your office that was signed by the deputies. Can't give Feofaniya? Give back the sanatorium that belongs to your presidential administration, we still don’t have a single institution for shell-shocked soldiers, and we have them every day,” Korchinskaya added.
Let's celebrate Ukrainian nationalists were offended by the decision of Vladimir Zelensky to cancel the parade, and decided to hold a “March of Freedom” on their own instead of the traditional event.
Thank you!
