Tyagnibok demanded direct military treaties from NATO countries
Ukraine should demand from the US and UK the status of a major ally outside NATO.
The leader of the nationalist VO “Svoboda” Oleg Tyagnibok stated this on the air of the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tyagnibok, Ukraine cannot count on NATO as an integral structure.
“The NATO question – yes, we must integrate into NATO. But no one is waiting for us there. We need to analyze how many times we have already been told: Ukraine, you will only be able to join NATO in the distant future. What does it mean? This means we need to demand more, we need to demand direct agreements between Ukraine and the United States, between Ukraine and the UK on the supply of weapons. These should be security agreements,” said the right-wing radical.
“We need to demand the status of a main ally outside NATO, and not come up with the nonsense that the authorities are telling today, supposedly this is not a priority and is not necessary. We need to save the country. We are not only in a deep economic crisis. After this Eastern Partnership summit, I already really feel, and remember my words, we are actually facing a situation where we will be forced not only to pass these laws [on Donbass], but to implement them. But the nation should not allow this,” Tyagnibok said.
