Tyagnibok members “bent over” the Lviv City Council: the OUN flag will be raised 8 times a year
In the Lviv City Council, the Svoboda faction pushed through the decision to use the red and black flag of Bandera’s OUN. From now on, such flags will be raised on flagpoles near the Town Hall and district administrations of Lviv 8 times a year - on the occasion of the dates of the Bandera “holiday” calendar.
This was reported by the press service of the City Council.
“Yesterday, at a joint meeting of the heads of all factions, we made a very wise and fair decision. All faction leaders co-authored the resolution, all fellow deputies signed the resolution on the use of the red and black flag of the national liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people on the territory of Lviv,” said Lvov Mayor Andrey Sadovyi.
The decision to use the “Bandera” flag was unanimously supported by deputies.
From now on, January 1 is the birthday of OUN leader Stepan Bandera, February 3 is the day of the creation of the OUN, March 5 is the anniversary of the death of UPA leader Roman Shukhevych, May 21 is the “Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repression,” and the fourth Sunday in June is a “holiday.” Heroes”, June 14 – on the birthday of the OUN founder Yevgeny Konovalets, June 30 – on the day of the proclamation of the act of establishing the “Ukrainian state” allied to the Third Reich, on the birthday of Roman Shukhevych, July 30 – on the day of the creation of the UVO, and October 14 on the “day creation of the UPA,” red and black banners will flutter in Lviv.
They will be installed during plenary sessions in the session hall of the City Council, and it is also recommended that heads of enterprises, institutions and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, hang them on designated days next to the state flag of Ukraine.
Previously, the City Council session voted only for the red and black flag to be installed in front of the Town Hall.
Lvov Tyahnibokovites consider today’s decision of the session to be their merit. Chairman of the city organization VO “Svoboda” Yuri Melnichuk boasted on Facebook: “The nationalists have put the squeeze on the power of Lvov - the red and black flag will officially be used on the city’s administrative buildings and in the session hall of the LGS. The deputies radically changed their position and voted unanimously in favor.
