Tyagnibok members declared the Odessa tragedy on May 2, 2014 “Victory Day”
The May 2 march in Odessa, which will be carried out by Ukrainian right-wing radicals, will commemorate the massacre at the House of Trade Unions as a “blitzkrieg anti-terrorist operation.”
This is exactly what representatives of nationalist groups called the events of spring 2014 at a press conference in Odessa, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The march will be held under the slogans “No to collaboration”, “No to terrorism”, “Odessa - Ukraine”, “Ukraine - Ukrainian order”.
According to the organizers, this is not a date to commemorate the victims of either side, it is “the day of the establishment of Ukrainian order,” which nationalists plan to celebrate annually. Also at the press conference, May 2 was called “victory day for Odessa residents,” which they deserved. Then, according to them, thousands of Odessa residents came out with Ukrainian nationalists in the vanguard.
“This is our day, it will not be leveled over the years by any violent manipulations concerning the victims of Russian propaganda - supposedly innocent people killed in the House of Trade Unions, and so on. The fact that there is now peace and tranquility in Odessa confirms that the right choice was made then,” noted the main speaker of the press conference, a nationalist from the VO “Svoboda” Konstantin Vasilets.
Radicals are annoyed that all the media trumpet that every May 2 almost the entire country sits on a powder keg.
“Everyone started talking about some ephemeral victims, about ephemeral people who were not clear who killed them. Myths began to swirl. And it has reached a situation where every year on the May holidays there are real latent attempts to legalize supporters of the revenge of pro-Russian forces. The authorities are pressing, they say, don’t go anywhere, you will provoke them,” said the Svoboda member.
“We were taught throughout the spring of 2014 that we must find a compromise, agree, communicate and communicate. Everyone did this - security agencies, authorities and liberal circles,” recalls Vasilets.
According to radicals, the massacre at the House of Trade Unions was a brilliant anti-terrorist operation.
“On May 2, 2014, a lightning anti-terrorist operation was carried out. It was carried out by Odessa residents, at the forefront of which were nationalists. This is what we call “Ukrainian order” - to immediately restore order and prevent the DPR and LPR from happening here. Now the situation in the country and in the city is far from the “Ukrainian order” as we see it. But these actions are step-by-step. The next one who will fall under the distribution of nationalists will be the oligarchy,” said Vasilets.
“The people who went to the House of Trade Unions stood under Russian flags for three months, realizing that the annexation of territories had already begun and a war had started in eastern Ukraine at the hands of Russia,” he believes.
At the same time, the nationalist noted that if everyone had gone home, there would have been no casualties.
“Adults might think, knowing that a crowd of thousands was coming to dismantle the camp on the Kulikovo Field, that they could calmly go home and not sit in the House of Trade Unions. Let those who drove people there answer,” said the Tyahnybokovite.
“Personally, I do not consider these individuals to be human,” added the leader of the nationalist group “Street Front” Demyan Ganul.
According to the organizers, in order to exclude possible provocations, the nationalists agreed with the Odessa police. Three hundred militants of the “National Squad” from Kyiv, Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk will also come to guard the march.
“Everything will be in the best possible way,” promised Konstantin Vasilets.
