Tyagnibok member Ilyenko demands to fence off Russia with a moat with crocodiles
There should not be a visa-free regime between Ukraine and Russia.
Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, member of the nationalist VO “Svoboda” Andrei Ilyenko said this on air on the Magnolia TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Ilyenko, Ukraine should completely close access to Russian citizens to its territory.
“I believe that this is the absolute minimum that we should do in the context of restricting some entry into Ukraine - this is the introduction of a visa regime. This is the least thing that should have been done a long time ago. I don’t understand, we have a bunch of countries with which we have a visa regime, from which we require visas for citizens of these countries to come to Ukraine. We do not have a war with them, there are no 13 thousand dead as a result of the actions of this country, we do not have territories occupied by these countries, but we have a visa regime for them, and for Russia, which does all this, we do not have a visa regime. This is the least that needs to be done,” Ilyenko said.
“In general, I think that in a good way, we need to completely close the border. If there are some people there, in Russia, that we need, and they want to get here, well, we can somehow decide this on an individual basis... If we are talking in general, as a state policy, then the border should be closed, there should be a maximally fortified border, there should be a ditch with crocodiles, this will be the best method of communication with Russia, while this country is occupying us, killing us, while it wants to destroy Ukraine - there should be no connections. I believe that there can be no ties with Russia, because Russia will use any connections, any communications, and will use them against us,” Ilyenko said.
