One Armed Forces officer was killed, five more were wounded and injured as a result of a 120-caliber mine hitting a truck in the Lugansk region.

“Today, May 21, in the Luhansk region, a courageous Ukrainian defender was killed as a result of a 120-caliber mine hitting a truck. One serviceman was also wounded and four others suffered combat injuries. The injured soldiers were taken to a medical facility and provided with proper medical care,” the statement said.

“The Joint Forces Command expresses sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased serviceman and emphasizes that such criminal actions of the occupiers will not go unpunished,” the JFO added.

In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported the death of a battalion commander of the special police battalion “Lugansk-1” from shrapnel wounds.

“During the execution of a task from the command of the headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation, he and three soldiers of the Lugansk-1 special police patrol battalion received shrapnel wounds. The fighters are receiving medical assistance,” police said.

They clarified that the emergency occurred yesterday, May 20, at approximately 21.30 in the area of ​​the village of Trekhizbenka, Novoaidarsky district, the circumstances are being clarified.
