A serious long-term problem: the capital of Crimea will acquire a new powerful collector
In Simferopol, the construction of a deep reservoir is nearing completion.
The highway, abandoned in Ukraine, was never brought to the treatment facilities in the village of Ukromnoye, and all the water from the storm sewer accumulates at the lowest point of the city - at the railway station, turning the area in front of it into a lake, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Construction of a new collector in a rapidly developing city began in the 90s. But in 1997, work had to be frozen, leaving the entrance shafts in the area of Pavlenko and Schmidt streets. Construction resumed after 23 years.
The project was included in the Federal Target Program for the development of Crimea. For 11 billion rubles, the tunnel will be brought to the Ukromnoye WWTP and the already constructed part will be repaired. Of the 17 km of highway, 13 km have already been built. The facility is planned to be commissioned in 2023.
The total capacity of the collector is designed for 175 thousand cubic meters of wastewater per day. Now the capital consumes 150 thousand cubic meters of water during peak periods, but not all areas are connected to the central sewerage system. In the Old Town, sewage pipes go directly into the Salgir River.
