Tymchuk wants to follow Russian TV and strangle print media

Kyiv, August 01 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – In the Ukrainian print media there is complete freedom of action for Russian propaganda. This opinion was expressed at a round table in Kyiv by Dmitry Tymchuk, head of the network group “Information Resistance,” one of the mouthpieces for covering the conflict in Donbass from the pro-Ukrainian side.

In his opinion, favorable conditions have developed in Ukraine for “Russian information intervention.”

“This is explained by the commonality of topics relevant to the region, as well as the virtual absence of a language barrier,” says Tymchuk. – This led to the fact that the Ukrainian media massively replicated the information product produced by the Russian media for quite a long time. This worked not only to demoralize the citizens of Ukraine and the Ukrainian military group in Crimea, but also to the international community.”

Currently, the Ukrainian propagandist believes, the situation has improved somewhat for Ukraine, but not completely.

“To this day, the issue of blocking the fifth information column has not been resolved,” Tymchuk emphasized. – Pro-Russian media feel at ease in Ukraine. If in terms of television and radio broadcasting we still see some progress thanks to the activities of specialized structures, then in terms of print media there is complete freedom of Russian propaganda, unfortunately.”
