There is no irritation in the queue; people are friendly and tolerant. Laughter and jokes can be heard, RG correspondent reports. Despite the fact that the cars are overcrowded with trunks and things, many drivers are looking for travel companions whom they can take with them. People are making plans for a peaceful life, discussing how and where to get wood, metal profiles, plumbing, etc. to restore houses.
The official representative of the FSB border department for the Rostov region, Nikolai Sinitsyn, confirmed to RG that due to the emerging stabilization in the south-eastern regions of Ukraine, the flow of people leaving Russia has increased. “In just one day, more than 14 thousand people passed through the Donetsk checkpoint to Ukraine,” he said.
Meanwhile, the situation in the Don territories bordering Ukraine remains alarming, and the truce remains fragile. Militias report that Ukrainian troops are preparing for a large-scale counteroffensive.
