This was stated by Deputy Mayor of Simferopol Anatoly Rogov, who inspected a number of problematic underground passages, reports the press center of the City Council.
According to the official, the public utility “Markets Directorate” currently has 19 metropolitan crossings on its balance sheet. More than 10 of them have been fully restored.
“Quite recently, the transition on Pobeda Avenue was taken into account. Here, the public utility “Direction of Markets” is planning major repairs: wiring lighting and fire protection systems, replacing asphalt pavement and wall cladding, installing ramps for children and wheelchairs, as well as railings and a canopy,” Rogov noted.
He also emphasized that in addition to the specified underground passage, the “Markets Directorate” was tasked with maximally equipping all city crossings that are on the city’s balance sheet.
“People complain, and we are obliged to provide our citizens with safe travel conditions. Simferopol residents should not fear for their lives and run across roads just because they are afraid to go down into the passage. In order not to be unfounded, let me remind you that repairs have already been made in the “subways” near the bus station building, on Dmitry Ulyanov Street, on Sovetskaya Square, on Kievskaya Street not far from the Privoz market. Our immediate plans include repairing the crossing at the Moskoltso stop, in the area of the Moscow Hotel, near the Selena restaurant and on Larionova Street near the railway crossing. Today, the Market Directorate has a new management, which is determined to complete all planned work by 2016,” assured Anatoly Rogov.
