The US Department of Education has demanded that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Maryland report on all connections with foreign structures, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
About it the department's letters say, sent to universities.
The ministry asked that universities report all contacts and gifts with structures from Russia, China, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. “The Ministry is concerned that your reports may not have fully listed all gifts and contracts... of foreign origin,” the letters said, published by Russian RBC.
Among the foreign structures mentioned are the Russian government, the Skolkovo Foundation, Kaspersky Lab, the Saudi oil company Saudi Aramco, Chinese Huawei and ZTE.
