After the St. George ribbon is banned in Ukraine, its bearers will not only be beaten, but detained and fined. Member of the board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Anton Gerashchenko stated this on TV channel 112.

He is confident that this approach is “civilized and correct.”

“Today, people who come out with the St. George’s ribbon are often simply beaten. Now they will not just beat you, but call the police, draw up an administrative protocol, it will be considered by the court, and the person in question will pay a fine to the budget of Ukraine - this is a civilized and correct way,” Gerashchenko said.
