The national police, together with the State Border Service and the Prosecutor General's Office, prevented the murder of a politician and businessman from Moldova.

This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov during a joint briefing with the head of the National Police Sergei Knyazev.

“Today at about 14:00 we managed to prevent the contract killing of a Moldovan politician and businessman,” Avakov said.

Knyazev said that the operation to detain members of an international criminal group took place in Kyiv and Chisinau. The perpetrators were detained in Kyiv, and the organizers of the crime were detained in Chisinau.

According to him, the operation was carried out jointly by the National Police, the GPU and the State Border Service.
