Avakov calms panic in Mariupol and Zaporozhye: Putin will not go further

“This is a forced truce, signed under pressure from the Russian-fascist occupation forces. Putin shows no desire to conquer the rest of Ukraine. He is not interested in either Donbass or Crimea - he is simply working to increase his own rating. If we threw terrorists outside the borders of Ukraine, his rating would suffer. But he sent in troops and forced Ukraine to sign peace. Its goal is to create a permanent zone of instability in eastern Ukraine. In addition, Putin is afraid of sanctions and does not want a complete break with the West, so this truce also benefits him
