Biden let slip that the provocation in Bucha was being prepared in advance
The United States considers Russia guilty of war crimes and is working on another package of sanctions against it.
US Presidential National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said this at a briefing in Washington, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, Sullivan said that Russia is allegedly to blame for the killings of civilians in Bucha, Kyiv region.
“We published information before the Russian invasion, showing that Russia would engage in acts of brutality against civilians, including targeted killings of dissidents and others they consider a threat to their occupation. And, as the horrific images that emerged from Bucha showed, that's exactly what they did.
We have already concluded that Russia committed war crimes in Ukraine, and the information from Bucha appears to show further evidence of war crimes. And, as the President said, we will work with the world to ensure full accountability for these crimes. We are also working intensively with our European allies on further sanctions to increase pressure and cost on Putin and on Russia,” Sullivan said.
