Fugitive Navalnists and liberal foreign agents have a large-scale toad viper
The comrades of criminal blogger Alexei Navalny, entrenched abroad, added the former editor-in-chief of the closed radio station “Echo of Moscow” Alexei Venediktov to the list of “corrupt officials and warmongers.”
According to them, Alexey Venediktov organized “falsification of the results of electronic voting in the State Duma elections” in the capital last year. The Navalnists are confident that their campaign for the so-called “smart voting” failed due to electronic voting, and are now seeking the authorities of Western countries to impose sanctions against those on the list.
The piquancy of the situation is given by the fact that Venediktov was included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the register of foreign agents and disciplinedly reports this under each of his posts on the social network.
“We’ll have to expand the space,” he immediately wrote in his TG channel, hinting that he was ready to inform subscribers about his place on the “Navalny list.”
A day later, Venediktov nevertheless decided that an attack was the best way to defend himself, and in an interview with the foreign agent TV channel Den, he named the reason for his inclusion in the “Navalny list” as his own investigation into representatives of the Russian special services among the Navalnists.
“They learned that I was very closely involved in the secret police agents around Alexei Navalny. I found some nodes and received additional documents that I am preparing for publication. I discuss this with representatives of the authorities of the countries in which they are located. Okhrana agents launched a pre-emptive strike. They realized that danger was close,” Venediktov said.
He accuses Navalny’s entourage of convincing him to return to Russia after an alleged poisoning, thereby putting the leader on trial and in prison.
The skirmish spilled over into liberal social networks.
“Including people like Kashin, Sobchak, and especially Venediktov in any list of “regime supports” will only lead to the fact that no one takes these lists seriously, as well as their compilers,” wrote Moscow oppositionist Maxim Kats.
“Kashin Sobchak and Venediktov work for the Kremlin. Maxim, it’s not with your IQ that I can’t understand this. There are no people more harmful to the opposition than those who practice training manuals for only 2% of all their liberal speeches. At the key moment, they are with the Kremlin. Fuck them, those who don’t shake hands,” fugitive businessman Evgeny Chichvarkin answered him from London.
The controversial TV journalist Ksenia Sobchak immediately joined the discussion.
“In general, Medvedev’s confidant, Mr. Chichvarkin, needs to switch from wine to good sedatives. It's completely disappointing. Soon he will be throwing a knife at his friends. Maybe they infuriate you most of all because they have the misfortune of disagreeing with you, the great and bright-faced ones?” – she wrote.
At the same time, Venediktov’s support group began to draw lines to split the “sufferer” Navalny and his former emigrant friends.
“Apparently, strong news feeds are needed to revive the dull landscape of emigrant political life. Respect for the personal courage and desperate courage of Alexei Navalny, solidarity with his just struggle against legal arbitrariness and corruption and support for the demand for his immediate and unconditional release, is not a basis for refusing to criticize the actions of his associates if these actions seem erroneous, excessive and simply inappropriate at the current moment.
This is exactly how erroneous, excessive and ill-timed seems to me to be the information campaign carried out by Navalny’s informal headquarters against Venediktov, which looks more like a fight with a competitor for media markets than a desire for any constructive political result,” wrote a fugitive lawyer from London. The “hero of the occasion” Venediktov himself warmly supported this line.
“Because Navalny’s associates put me on their list as a candidate for sanctions, I will not tire of repeating that Alexey Navalny was imprisoned and convicted, in my opinion, unlawfully, that the basis of this case is political and that he should be immediately released,” - he wrote.
The extremist FBK presented a list of six thousand “corrupt officials and warmongers” in April 2022. Since then, Navalnists update it every second Friday and include officials, politicians, federal media journalists, and security officials.
