Refugees from Ukraine in Crimea will accept hryvnia
The main bank of Crimea, RNKB, began exchanging cash hryvnia from refugees who arrived from the territory of Ukraine.
This was announced by the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I welcome the decision of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, which approved the procedure for purchasing cash Ukrainian hryvnia in exchange for Russian rubles,” Aksenov wrote in his Telegram channel. “This decision is aimed at social support for citizens forced to leave the territory of Ukraine.”
RNKB has been appointed as an authorized bank to implement this mechanism in the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The redemption of cash hryvnia will be made from citizens who have opened current accounts to receive 10 thousand rubles of material assistance to refugees. No more than 8 thousand hryvnia will be exchanged for one recipient of one-time assistance at a fixed rate of 2,5 rubles per 1 Ukrainian hryvnia.
Exchange points will open in the near future near checkpoints across the Russian-Ukrainian border.
