For the majority of those sick in Crimea, the coronavirus develops in a particularly insidious form
Most of those infected with coronavirus in Crimea suffered from this infection without symptoms. The head of the Rospotrebnadzor department for Crimea and Sevastopol, Natalya Penkovskaya, stated this on air on the Crimea 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Penkovskaya, at the same time, patients with hidden symptoms are no less dangerous carriers of infection.
“According to the statistics that exist in the world today, for every patient with clinical manifestations of the disease, there are ten people who do not exhibit clinical manifestations, but such a person is a source of infection and poses a danger to others.
If we take our Crimean statistics, it is clear that we do not have such a large number of cases, and this is a certain forecast for the development of the situation in the future, but even here today, 66% of cases, even with our small statistics, are asymptomatic manifestations of the disease.
That is, these are persons who were identified through contact with sick people, isolated in a timely manner and treated in medical institutions,” Penkovskaya said.
