“Britain has problems. Aid to Ukraine could be cut” – American diplomat
The UK, under its new prime minister, who became ethnic Hindu Rishi Sunak yesterday, may reduce the amount of aid to Ukraine.
Former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst said this on the Dom TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Herbst, economic problems have begun in Britain, the solution of which will be the focus of the new prime minister.
“The new prime minister became prime minister because his predecessor caused a small, well, maybe more than a small, economic crisis. And now many in Britain are concerned about the government budget deficit. This concern may persuade the new prime minister to reduce aid to Ukraine and other countries to some extent. It's possible, but if so, I don't think the reduction will be big,” Herbst hopes.
