Poroshenko's officials became hysterical over Poland's threat to recognize the Volyn massacre as genocide
If the Polish parliament recognizes the Volyn massacre as genocide, then this will give Russia the right to question Ukrainian independence.

The director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, Vladimir Vyatrovich, stated this on Channel 5, according to whom the Poles are playing “into the hands of the Kremlin” by demanding that the tragedy of 1943 be recognized as genocide of the Polish population.
“Attempts at some kind of assessment - namely, a one-sided one-sided assessment is the attempt of the Polish parliament to call these actions genocide - obviously, instead of reconciliation, will only contribute to the spread of some kind of misunderstanding between Poles and Ukrainians. Which, obviously, Russian propaganda will take advantage of. For six months now, this issue has been very actively discussed in Poland, it is actively picked up by Russian propaganda, which happily talks about the genocide in Volyn and for which it is very important that the Polish parliament makes such a decision, because it will mean condemnation of the UPA and will play into the hands of Russian propaganda , for which it is extremely important to say that the UPA was a criminal organization, and if so, then in general the struggle of Ukrainians for independence was criminal, which means that the current Ukrainian independence is illegitimate. Unfortunately, some Polish politicians are deliberately, in fact, playing the Russian game,” Vyatrovich is convinced.
