Let us recall, as Navigator reported, today in Donetsk, under the building of the regional police department, supporters of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” gathered. Their main demand - the resignation of the head of the "head office" - was satisfied. The head of the regional police department, Konstantin Pozhidaev, wrote a letter of dismissal, declaring that he supported the people.

“Law enforcement officers are massively going over to the side of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” political scientist Roman Manekin confirmed to Navigator in a telephone conversation. He said that there are supporters of the DPR in all law enforcement agencies - and in special forces, police officers, traffic police and the SBU, etc. “They all share the ideals of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” says Manekin.

People's Militia activist Ilya believes that the reason is that in Donetsk the security forces were greeted as heroes after the Maidan.

“During the confrontations in Kyiv, we provided them with fire extinguishers, food, water, and collected money for them. They were simply killed there and burned. It was very scary,” Ilya, who was involved in organizing assistance to Berkut, shared his memories with Navigator.

“They couldn't win because they weren't given orders. When they returned to Donetsk, they were greeted with flowers. They could not openly come over to our side because they were under oath. But Berkut did not touch the demonstrators or activists,” the activist said.

He said that law enforcement officials themselves demanded that Roman Romanov be reappointed as their leader.

According to his information, activists are located in city department buildings in Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Krasny Liman and Konstantinovka.
