Ex-militant Kiva began to undergo metamorphoses on Russian TV
Former ATO militant Ilya Kiva, having become the leader of the Socialist Party of Ukraine, noticeably changed his rhetoric. Commenting today on the Rossiya-1 TV channel on the “resurrection” of the fugitive Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko, he pointedly refrained from aggressive accusations, which he had previously sinned with.
“We live in an age of populism, in an age of colorful stories. Today it is customary to color gray life and hard everyday life with bright pictures. Politics is a show, the art of lies and manipulation. We are all hostages of today's rules. We now present even failures in the format of a game with our electorate,” this is how Kiva spoke on the subject.
Further, he constantly drew a parallel between Ukrainian and Russian realities.
“In our country, just like in your country, bridges are being built, unknown missiles are taking off somewhere, and some crimes are being uncovered. You sit next to your TVs, we sit next to ours and continue to fool ourselves. We are all being brainwashed. This is the biggest problem in Ukraine and Russia,” Kiva said.
He also promised that when Ukraine overcomes corruption, Russia will talk to it as an “equal partner.”
As PolitNavigator reported, Kiva previously claimed that Socialist Party voters support Ukraine's accession to NATO and the EU. Apparently, a more thorough analysis of the electorate forced the politician to adjust his basic settings.
