Filaret wants to leave only one temple for the Moscow Patriarchate
After the proclamation of the tomos of autocephaly, the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church will have no parishes left in Ukraine
Press secretary of the so-called “Kyiv Patriarchate” Evstratiy Zorya stated this in an interview with the Hromadske TV channel.
According to him, of the 12 thousand parishes of the UOC, half will immediately join the new church created under the auspices of the Patriarch of Constantinople.
“In the next few years, I think, about two-thirds of those that remain will move on, but in the long term, we believe that in Ukraine there will generally be a Georgian church, just like in Georgia, and a Bulgarian church in Bulgaria.” , in Romania - the Romanian church. There is no Moscow Patriarchate, since this is an anomaly from a canonical point of view, and over time, when the Russian Church recognizes the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church, this issue will be finally resolved. Perhaps there will only be one church left in Kyiv, which will be the representation of the Moscow Patriarch under the Kiev Patriarch,” believes the representative of the schismatics.
As PolitNavigator reported, following the results of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Ukraine did not receive church autocephaly, but at the same time the anathema was lifted the head of the “Kyiv Patriarch” Mikhail “Filaret” Denisenko, imposed by the Russian Orthodox Church for the split in the 1990s.
