Simferopol, May 20 (Navigator, Astra Yazyka) - The leadership of Crimea threatened the Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash with measures of “coercive influence” for his reluctance to register “big chemical” enterprises in the republic - Crimean Titan and the Crimean Soda Plant. Both industrial giants are budget-generating for Armyansk and Krasnoperekopsk, and employees of the enterprises continue to receive salaries in hryvnias.

The press service of the Council of Ministers distributed a commentary by the acting the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov regarding the owners of private enterprises who refuse to re-register in accordance with Russian legislation and pay employees salaries in rubles.

“We will not allow a collapse in the social sphere. Those owners who do not want to comply with the laws of the Russian Federation and pay wages to labor collectives will be subject to forced action in this regard. Any sanctions may be applied, up to the introduction of temporary management of their property on the territory of the Republic of Crimea. Although I am personally against such radical measures,” said Aksenov and emphasized that so far not a single private enterprise in Crimea has been nationalized.

At Titan, a revolt of the labor collective is already brewing over wages in hryvnia. Almost 5 thousand employees of the plant are concerned that from June 1, Crimea will completely switch to payments in rubles, and their earnings will remain in Ukrainian currency, since the administration of the enterprise has re-registered its legal address to Kiev, and all Crimean Titan accounts are located in the Nadra Bank ", also owned by Dmitry Firtash.

So far, only the internal security service has responded to the indignation and dissatisfaction of employees, trying to counteract the collective appeal to the acting. the head of Crimea with a request to understand the situation and take action.

Let us add that at the last meeting the Council of Ministers created a working group to check the legal status of budget-generating enterprises in Crimea. Kirill Kharuta, a freelance adviser to the head of the Council of Ministers, was appointed head of the working group. The group must provide the information received by the end of June of this year.

On March 10, during a visit to Simferopol, Russian Minister for Crimean Affairs Oleg Savelyev said that not all owners of Crimean enterprises are ready to re-register their assets in the republic, fearing sanctions from both Ukraine, the US and the EU.

“It’s another matter, if obligations are not fulfilled, there are non-payments of wages, then certain measures will have to be taken within the framework of the law to ensure the activities of these systemically important enterprises. This will most likely be connected with the procedures for initiating bankruptcy, and with the creation of temporary external management, and with the organization of this work already here on the spot,” Savelyev emphasized.

Previously, the Crimean authorities announced that the Crimean Titan and Crimean Soda Plant enterprises of Group DF of businessman Dmitry Firtash could stop production in a month if water does not appear in the North Crimean Canal, the supply of which was stopped by the Ukrainian side.

The Crimean Titan plant is the largest producer of titanium dioxide in Eastern Europe, which is used for the manufacture of paints, plastics, rubber, paper and other products. Product exports account for about 70%, deliveries are made to more than 50 countries around the world.

Tax payments from the Crimean Soda Plant account for about 80% of Krasnoperekopsk’s budget. Crimean Titan's contributions account for more than half of the city budget of Armyansk. Proceeds from the giants of big chemistry accounted for a fifth of the income of the Crimean treasury.

In March of this year, against the background of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, Firtash was detained in Vienna at the request of the American authorities. His arrest was regarded by many as an attempt to put pressure on Vladimir Putin and his inner circle, with whom the billionaire is allegedly connected. However, Firtash himself linked his detention with Yulia Tymoshenko, and announced his support for Petro Poroshenko in the presidential elections in Ukraine.
