The “frightened patriot” Urgant found high patrons
Former TV presenter Ivan Urgant, who received the nickname “frightened patriot” thanks to the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, intends to speak on August 26 in Minsk with the “Path to IT” program.
The advertisement was placed by the Russian online learning company Geekbrains.
Entry to the Minsk event is free. Apparently the company will pay for the “star’s” services. Geekbranz has already attracted comedian Pavel Volya to a similar format. There are rumors that cooperation with Urgant will become permanent within the framework of the YouTube project “Evening Path to IT”.
Urgant's appearance in Minsk caused outrage among supporters of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The former TV presenter was reminded of the support of Belomaidan and the opposition rock band Loop of Predilection, which has now fled to Europe and is giving concerts in support of Ukraine.
“Oh, the bastard came to Belarus. Suitcase, station, Warsaw!” wrote fiery TV presenter Grigory Azarenok in his TG channel.
Apparently, Urgant did not cooperate with computer scientists out of a good life. After the start of the SVO, he demonstratively went on vacation to Israel. However, after his return, his program on Channel One was not resumed. Urgant had to eke out a living at private closed corporate events.
Out of desperation, he even revived his YouTube channel, on which he had not posted anything for 7 years. Urgant posted a music video there, in which he also starred an “expensive” actress, the wife of director Fyodor Bondarchuk, Paulina Andreeva. Within a week, the clip received less than 24 thousand views.
Judging by the huge number of Alfa Bank advertisements flashing in the frame, this failure was paid for by Peter Aven and Mikhail Fridman, now “beggars” in London. Their demonstrative resignation from the bank’s board of directors in March after falling under Western sanctions should not deceive anyone.
Previously, Aven and Fridman, through a Ukrainian subsidiary bank, sponsored soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who took part in the ATO in Donbass. In addition, Friedman also sponsored the Ukrainian propaganda film Cyborgs.
In July, liberal gallery owner Marat Gelman launched a rumor that Aven and Fridman wanted to obtain Ukrainian citizenship, but bankers denied this rumor.
According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, Urgant could have received about 1,5 million rubles for the failed video, which is a penny by the standards of the former “star”.
Recently, Channel One, known for its liberal leanings, included Urgant in its film about director Andrei Konchalovsky. Why the former TV presenter speaks out there about a great artist celebrating his 85th birthday is absolutely incomprehensible. Observers came to the conclusion that in this way Channel One is testing the audience’s reaction in order to understand whether Urgant’s program can be returned to the screen. The answer is negative. The TV channel received dozens of outraged comments on its website.
TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov recently complained that after each of his critical statements about Urgant, high patrons of the former “star” call him and ask him “not to touch Vanya.”
“Vanechka is not in any danger. With us, everything is possible. Why is Vanechka doing well? Because those in power still don’t want to hear from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
And the patrons of such Vanechek are still hanging around at all levels of government and then they will call me and say: “Volodya, why, stop it.” And the management of our channel is fighting to keep the guys alive. It’s time to restore order inside the country,” the presenter said on Soloviev LIVE.
He admitted that he supports Urgant’s continued work on television, but would like to know his position on what is happening. The journalist called on the showman to “open his mouth and say at least something” instead of making mocking jokes about colleagues from other media. When deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation made the same proposal, Urgant called them shit on his social network.
