Karabakh has a chance for international recognition – media
Nagorno-Karabakh is ready to appeal to world political centers with a request to consider the issue of recognizing the sovereignty of the republic.
NKR President Arayik Harutyunyan stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the population of the republic “is fighting for the right to live in their native land against Azerbaijani-Turkish forces and international terrorist groups financed by Baku.” The NKR President also warned that a request for independence will be made in the near future if the Azerbaijani side continues bloodshed contrary to the truce agreement reached on October 9 in Moscow.
Moscow media believe that there are chances for international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Artsakh’s hopes for recognition are not unfounded,” writes Nezavisimaya Gazeta. – During the current war, the open sympathies of a number of states have emerged. In many countries of the world where Armenian diasporas are visible, numerous actions are taking place demanding that governments put pressure on Baku and Ankara, force them to stop hostilities and support the political aspirations of the NKR,” the article notes.
