Kyiv has no logic - expert on coal shortage in Ukraine
For the sake of playing politics, the Ukrainian leadership acted extremely illogically and put the country on the threshold severe energy crisis.
Boris Martsinkevich, editor-in-chief of the Geoenergetics.ru magazine, said this on the PolitWera YouTube channel, answering the question why the Ukrainian government, despite the severe shortage of energy resources, does not want to negotiate with Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is no logic in this [Kyiv’s behavior], this is absolutely obvious. I think last week they reported that there is a catastrophic shortage of coal, and this in a country that has declared a blockade of Donbass, which believes that Russia is at war with it, and these are two sources of coal.
Why not solve the problem, what happened there? Why should you buy coal in Pennsylvania, South Africa, Colombia? Nobody asks under what conditions coal boiler houses and thermal power plants are built, whether this coal is suitable for them or not, what the combustion temperature is, and so on.
Instead of worrying about their own population and their own energy system, the guys are engaged in some kind of political games. What can we say here,” said the expert.
