Kyiv has practically no personnel to serve in the Naval Forces
Ukraine cannot find specialists to serve in the naval forces.
Military expert Taras Chmut stated this on air on the Skrypin Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, there is no salary or discipline in the Ukrainian Naval Forces as such, hence the staff turnover and lack of specialists.
“For the Ukrainian Navy, manning a corvette is a huge challenge today. This is about a hundred people. There are no people in the fleet for what is, for what will be - the future three Islands, the future two British minesweepers, the future two Mark VIs and those that already exist: Sagaidachny, Priluki, Balta ", "Gorlovka", "Shostka", training boats. That’s all,” Chmut emphasized.
“Conscripts serve on ships, the organizational culture in the naval forces is one of the worst in the armed forces, the outflow of personnel is large, salaries, compared to other areas of the national economy, in the naval forces are low, there are no specialists. The trend towards dismissal in the Navy is quite acute... And this is a very big problem that we don’t talk about. Because we can buy 10 corvettes, the question is: who will serve on them?” Chmut said.
