Kyiv already has a plan to abandon Donbass
“Plan B” for Donbass, the existence of which Ukrainian officials mention in case of failure of the Minsk agreements, is a plan to abandon Donetsk and Lugansk. Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, for nationalists Donbass is an obstacle to building an “ethnically pure” Ukraine.
“Our situation is such that we do not recognize, Kyiv does not recognize that the people who were elected there represent this community. And our “hot heads” say that they should all be put in prison there, because they are separatists, terrorists, and so on.
It’s clear how this could end – with these conversations that there is a “plan B”. And “Plan B,” very briefly, is a plan to abandon Donbass.
This mess. Poroshenko is a cunning man, of course, he would also like to give up Donbass, but he never gave such obvious hints. And Zelensky’s team, which is not experienced enough, is not fully aware of these conversations about “Plan B.”
For many people, ending the war is important, but for a significant part of the population - western Ukraine and part of the nationalist society - Donbass is not needed at all. They don’t need people who interfere with their implementation of their plan for an ethnically pure Ukraine,” Pogrebinsky said.
Formerly Minister of Foreign Affairs Ukraine Vadim Prystaiko announced that Kyiv has a “plan B” in Donbass. At the same time, the Foreign Minister admitted that this would lead to the freezing of the conflict.
