This proposal was made by deputy Alexey Reznikov at a plenary meeting in the Kiev City Council, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I propose to rename the Friendship of Peoples Park to Muromets Park. This park is located on the island “Muromets”, which is an architectural monument and on which there is an ancient Russian settlement of the XNUMXnd century. I also remind you that Ilya Muromets is buried in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra and defended Kyiv. And there is a geopolitical goal to attribute his merits specifically to Ukraine, and not to other states,” said Alexey Reznikov.
