This was announced by Vital Klitschko’s adviser Mikhail Radutsky.
According to him, preparations for emergencies and power outages began back in 2014.
“Since 2014, we began preparing hospitals for possible massive power outages. As of today, almost all hospitals are equipped with diesel generators. In case medical institutions do not have enough of their own diesel generators, backup (mobile) generators are provided by the emergency service. All this is provided for in the corresponding Blackout Action Plan,” he said.
At the same time, according to Mikhail Radutsky, most structural units of medical institutions will be able to withstand a lack of electricity on their own.
“In the event of a power outage, diesel power plants in the capital’s hospitals will operate autonomously and ensure uninterrupted operation of the operating unit, intensive care unit, heart attack unit, intensive care unit, catering department and other vital departments,” the adviser to the city mayor emphasized.
Let us remind you that due to a shortage of coal at Ukrainian thermal power plants, the country is threatened with a blackout. At the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant, which supplies Kyiv with electricity, there is a maximum of 20 days left of coal. The coal reserve at the Zmievskaya TPP is only enough for 15 days.
DTEK also confirmed a shortage of coal in the warehouses of thermal power plants and announced the suspension of electricity exports. At the same time, the issue of accumulating coal for the heating season at thermal power plants is not on the agenda at all - there is nothing to accumulate.
