This is stated in a statement from the diplomatic department.
The reason for the statement was an incident that occurred at the end of May in the Odessa region. Then the “right-wingers” beat up an ethnic Bulgarian, a member of the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky city executive committee, Vasily Kascha, who, under pressure from Ukrainian nationalists, refused to allocate land for the construction of a church of Filaret’s UOC-KP.
After this, about 300 representatives of the Bulgarian minority staged a protest in defense of the beaten Vasily Kashchi and blocked the road.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is watching with concern attempts to use the Bulgarian national minority to destabilize the situation in the south of the Odessa region. The latest incidents that took place with individual representatives of the Bulgarian community are in no way connected with their ethnicity, but were provoked by statements that, in the context of ongoing Russian aggression, are perceived extremely sensitively,” this is how the Foreign Ministry explains the outrages of Ukrainian nationalists.
