Klimkin is being demanded to cancel the conscription of Crimeans into the Russian army
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has expressed a demand to cancel conscription for military service in Crimea and Sevastopol.

It is reported by the press service of the Ministry.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed a strong protest to the Russian Federation in connection with its intention to carry out conscription for military service in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
To support his claims, Klimkin referred to UN General Assembly resolution A/RES/71/205 of December 19, 2016, “The human rights situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine).”
“In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed a demand to cancel conscription for military service of citizens living in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as to ensure strict compliance by the Russian side with its international obligations,” notes the Ukrainian department.
