The corresponding position was voiced by Anatoly Anatolych, the host of the morning TV show “Snidanok z 1+1”, speaking at a round table organized by the National Expert Commission for the Protection of Public Morality on the topic “Language policy as a component of countering information threats and a priority direction in ensuring information security: the current state and challenges,” reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Ukrainian journalist said that his channel was the first to take off the air Russian series in which the heroes are representatives of the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation, and also that “1+1” is currently filming its own series, which it plans to show in the spring.
“As for the language policy of Snidanok z 1+1, this is an absolutely Ukrainian-language product,” the TV presenter returned to the main topic of the round table. “Journalists born in Feodosia, Lugansk, Krivoy Rog, absolutely Russian-speaking regions in their time, speak Ukrainian.”
At the same time, he admitted that some of his channel’s programs are broadcast in Russian, but explains this fact by the need to convey Ukrainian propaganda to a wider audience.
“They are published in Russian for only one reason - we really want this program to be watched on the Internet in Russia and in the east,” explained Anatoly Anatolich. – Unfortunately, we are losing the information war not only in eastern Ukraine, but also in western Europe. We want people to watch this program, even if it’s in Russian, but this is propaganda of Ukrainian ideas, propaganda of Ukraine.”
The journalist, who, by the way, runs his Facebook page primarily in Russian, expressed his support for President Poroshenko's initiative to make English, not Russian, the second language of Ukraine.
“I agree with the president that the only way to discard Russian as a second language is to make English a second language, which will become a barrier between Ukrainian and Russian,” the TV journalist stated.
