Crimea has every chance of surpassing the 2018 tourist record
The number of vacationers who have visited Crimea since the beginning of this year is already 40% more than in the record year 2018. The Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic, Vadim Volchenko, stated this on air on the Crimea 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The minister emphasized that there has not been such a number of vacationers since Soviet times. This is due, among other things, to the launch of traffic on the automobile part of the Crimean Bridge and the new airport terminal.
“If we talk about the 18th year, this is a record for the post-Soviet period - we received 6,8 million tourists, about 200 thousand during the New Year and Christmas holidays. Such numbers have not been seen in Crimea for a very long time, and maybe even never.
Now we are exceeding the 17th and 18th years by about 40-45%. It's very cool, actually. We understand that, of course, logistics, the bridge, the airport terminal, but pricing also plays a role, improving the quality of service,” Volchenko said.
