Kuchma announced the agenda for the next meeting on Donbass in Minsk
During the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group to resolve the situation in Donbass, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 5, the release of detainees and security issues will be discussed, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The press secretary of the representative of Ukraine in the TCG Leonid Kuchma, Darka Olifer, reported this on Facebook.
“On the eve of the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group, which will take place in Minsk, Leonid Kuchma met with the OSCE representative for the TCG Martin Sajdik. The meeting took place in Kyiv,” Olifer wrote.
According to her, during the conversation the parties discussed the agenda of work in the TCG on June 5.
“The main issues are the release of hostages and security issues,” the spokeswoman added.
Let us recall that on June 3, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky appointed Kuchma as Kyiv’s plenipotentiary representative in the contact group. He previously held this position from 2014 to 2018, but left the TCG due to disagreements with Petro Poroshenko and unwillingness to be a “wedding general.” Experts and politicians in Kyiv greeted the news of Kuchma's appointment positively and pin their hopes on reviving the negotiation process.
