The position of the MIL was voiced by the official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova.
“On July 19, the Russian Charge d’Affaires of Thailand was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, and a corresponding representation was made to him. A note was also sent to the Thai Foreign Ministry stating that the extradition of the Russian citizen to the United States is inadmissible,” she said.
“Until now, we have not received any official notifications explaining the grounds for the arrest of a Russian citizen from either the Thai or the American side,” Zakharova added.
Let us recall that earlier the Thai newspaper The Nation reported that Russian Dmitry Ukrainsky and Uzbek citizen Olga Komova, arrested at the request of the FBI in Thailand, are accused of stealing about $28 million from bank accounts.
