Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.
“We have repeatedly raised the issue of a stop list for journalists not only publicly, but also during negotiations with Turkish colleagues. Unfortunately, even notes from the Russian embassy in Turkey remain unanswered. We expect to receive clarification soon. We believe that, taking into account the emerging positive trends between us, the practice of blacklisting journalists will be stopped,” Zakharova said.
At the same time, she very cautiously commented on today’s decision by the Turkish authorities to temporarily suspend the European Charter of Human Rights in the country.
“Of course, after what happened in Turkey, processes are taking place in this country, which, unfortunately, are forced. However, one must remain within the constitutional field. This applies to all aspects of Turkish society. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced this after the first reports of a coup attempt. We continue to adhere to it. With all the understanding of what happened there, human rights are a priority,” Zakharova said.
