Lavrov noticed that Erdogan is not a friend at all and expressed indignation
The actions held in Turkey on the occasion of the anniversaries of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars and the end of the Caucasian War do not serve to strengthen relations between countries.
This opinion was voiced by official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during the briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would also like to comment on the actions that took place in Turkey, which were timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars and the 150th anniversary of the end of the Caucasian War. I would like to remind you that in May a whole series of events on the mentioned topics took place in Turkey. We note with regret that most of these events, including those carried out with the direct support of the Turkish central municipal authorities, were politicized and openly anti-Russian in nature.
Obviously, this does not contribute to solving the task of further development of relations, a multifaceted partnership, set by the heads of state of Russia and Turkey, and recorded in the relevant bilateral documents. The connivance of the anti-Russian campaign on the part of official Ankara does not at all correlate with its own approach to other historical events,” noted the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
