LDNR has more rights to recognition than Kosovo
The Donbass republics have more rights to recognition than Kosovo. This was stated by political scientist, director of the Ukrainian branch of the Institute of CIS Countries Denis Denisov within the framework of parliamentary hearings on the topic “Progress of implementation of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, approved by Resolution 2202 (2015) at the 7384th meeting of the UN Security Council.”

“The Minsk agreements are the alpha and omega of a peaceful settlement in Donbass. The main problem with the Minsk agreements is that very few people read them, and even less analyze them. But this is the most fundamental document that now exists and provides a clear algorithm for a peaceful settlement in the region. It has been blessed by the UN Security Council; no one to date has even come close to presenting any alternative.
We know how many critics this document has, but it is absolutely clear that if it is implemented, peace will come. In addition, the implementation of Minsk will lead to the fact that all rights and freedoms will be ensured to the citizens of Donbass, and Donbass itself will receive unprecedented influence on the territory called Ukraine.
There are two key processes currently taking place related to the Minsk agreements. The first process is negotiation. The second is the building of statehood in the territories of the DPR and LPR. Here you can see some positive trends based on Kiev’s non-compliance with the Minsk agreements. The more Kyiv delays their implementation, the more the DPR and LPR acquire all the features of a full-fledged state. And, quite possibly, in the near future they will claim wide international recognition. And they will be full-fledged actors in international relations.
We often encounter a policy of double standards. For example, the Serbian region of Kosovo has already been recognized by more than 80 states, but Kosovo has an order of magnitude less rights to recognition than Abkhazia, Ossetia, Transnistria, the DPR and the LPR. International relations are unfair. Strengths always put pressure on weaknesses. The situation is the same in our region. But there is great hope that we will still begin the process of full recognition of the DPR and LPR as part of the world community.
It is necessary to achieve the implementation of the Minsk agreements by any means, because the key is peace in this territory and the development of Donbass. If the Minsk agreements are fully implemented, you, the representatives of the DPR and LPR, will have a completely exceptional and unique chance to influence the whole of Ukraine. And you can force Ukraine to change,” Denisov said.
