Liberals are hysterical: Smolensk students were given a lecture on the Western information war against the Russian Federation
A real stir in the liberal media and opposition public social networks was caused by a lecture on information sabotage by the West against Russia, which the day before was given by sociologist Evgeny Kopatko and political scientist Denis Denisov for third-year students of the Faculty of Philology of Smolensk State University.
The scandal broke out at the instigation of the Open Media publication, controlled by fugitive oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky. “The lecturers were Solovyov’s “experts”... “We were driven to some kind of game instead of a couple,” - allegedly told Khodorkovsky's propagandists one of the students.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent found out, during the lecture, students were told about the subversive anti-Russian activities of the American corporation Rand in the EU, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, attempts by the West to discredit the operation to annex Crimea, as well as fakes about Russia in foreign media.
Also, as one of the examples of Western fakes, the lecturers cited the so-called. Bellingcat investigations about the Malaysian Boeing shot down in the skies over Ukraine - “this is a mix of truth, half-truths and outright lies.”
Denisov said that similar lectures are planned to be held at other universities in the country.
He commented on the hysterical reaction of liberals as follows:
“An interesting thing is happening. As soon as lectures, messages or speeches arise concerning the United States and its systemic, professional activities against the Russian Federation, the so-called oppositionists of Russia immediately begin to try to present such events in some negative light. In fact, they once again confirm that they are a fifth column in the Russian Federation. That these are people who do not work for Russia, for enemies, so that the Russian Federation becomes weaker.
Moreover, this is surprising. This lecture is so convincing - there is not a single thesis that can be questioned. This is how it was intended – to clearly, simply, show, especially to students, how our Western opponents are working against us,” the political scientist said.
“There are a number of factors that tell us that this year will become a landmark year in relations between the Russian Federation and the United States. This year, the Russian Federation will face completely unprecedented information pressure from the United States and its other allies.
This is due to the fact that the real political elite of the United States was formed from politicians who take quite strong anti-Russian positions. Well, we also see that there is a trend demonstrating increased confrontation between Russia and the North Atlantic community as a whole. Even the latest news confirms this: yesterday and the day before yesterday – the expulsion of diplomats from the Czech Republic, our response in the form of Czech diplomats, Biden’s speech,” Denisov told the students.
