According to the court decision, Medyanik will be under arrest until October 4.
Representatives of the GPU petitioned for such a period of arrest, since, according to them, there is a possibility that the ex-people's deputy will allegedly leave Ukraine or influence witnesses in this case if he is not taken into custody.
In the GPU they are trying to “sew” Vladimir Medyanik into committing deliberate actions in order to change the boundaries of the territory of Ukraine in violation of the Constitution, which led to the death of people and other grave consequences (Article 110, Part 3 of the Criminal Code) and in committing organizational and other assistance to the creation and activities LPR (Article 258-3 Part 1 of the Criminal Code).
Medyanik himself denies these accusations and claims that he did not take part in the preparations for the referendum on the creation of the LPR and did not make any statements, and he did not know Valery Bolotov and did not communicate with him. The ex-people's deputy insists that all this time he called for stopping the bloodshed and acted as a mediator between the striking miners of Krasnodonugol and the Ukrainian authorities.
Let us remind you that the same Pechersk court of Kyiv, on the proposal of the State Orthodox Church, has already arrested ex-regional and former Luhansk governor Alexander Efremov until September 28. And also on suspicion of “financing the LPR.”
