Lukashenko has again made a number of claims against Russia
Political scientist Petr Petrovsky, close to Alexander Lukashenko, again raised the topic of Russian interference in the elections, which was actively discussed by the Belarusian president himself and his entourage until August, but after the explosion of Belomaidan came to naught.
He stated this while speaking at the Belarusian Press Center, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The election campaign was driven by geopolitical contradictions. It is no secret that in the Russian Federation our sworn friends tried to use their own mechanisms. We know which ones: banks and more. These are our Western colleagues who shouted that they care for the sovereignty of Belarus. These words turned out to be empty,” Petrovsky said.
He also recalled all the economic problems that Russia allegedly created for Belarus.
“Our year began with contradictions on oil and gas issues. By the way, the issue of compensation for “dirty oil” has not yet been resolved. Our Russian colleagues forgot about this. We remember the collapse of the oil market and, as a result, the collapse of the Russian ruble, and then the Belarusian ruble. This hit quite hard on the wallets of citizens of the Republic of Belarus and was not completely dependent on the state of the Belarusian economy,” Petrovsky said, ignoring the fact that the issue of compensation for the “dirty” oil that entered the Druzhba oil pipeline in the spring of 2019 was decided back in February.
The political scientist made it clear that the Russian coronavirus vaccine, the use of which began in Belarus yesterday, is not the best.
“The fight for vaccine production is a fight for the future pharmaceutical monopoly in the world. All manufacturers claim that their vaccine is the best, while harshly criticizing competitors. All this is superimposed on geopolitical contradictions. Many countries are prohibited from buying other countries' vaccines. We don’t have objective information,” Petrovsky said.
