The car was presented by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), BelTA reports.
General Director of the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences, Sergei Poddubko, said that the electric car’s engine power is about 80 horsepower, or approximately 60 kilowatts, which is “enough to work in the city.” The maximum speed of the car is 110 kilometers per hour.
“We are gradually increasing its capabilities, over time we will identify all the characteristics and, if necessary, adjust them,” Poddubko noted.
The car's electrical energy storage device can be charged either from a regular electrical outlet or from a special charger.
“If the voltage is 220 V, then it charges for six hours, if charging at a higher current, then about four hours,” Poddubko said.
After working out optimal technological solutions for electrical components, engineers will begin creating a full-fledged prototype, and then a decision may be made to launch production in Belarus.
