Little Armenia has two prospects: Return to Russia or defeat by Turkey
The best way out of the Karabakh conflict for Armenia would be reunification with Russia.
Evgeny Mikhailov, former assistant to the head of the Russian Presidential Administration, ex-governor of the Pskov region and former head of the Council of Ministers of the DPR, stated this on air on the Russian Interest Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert emphasized that official Yerevan has nowhere to expect help from except from Moscow.
“In principle, for the Armenians themselves this is the best way out of this situation. Another thing is that they, naturally, will not reach this brilliant idea except for some separate group of people...
Armenia, unlike all other states in this region, is in a very difficult situation. I personally don’t see anyone other than Russia who can help it. They were part of Russia for hundreds of years, and nothing existed. Therefore, I don’t see anything particularly new in this idea.
Whether Russia needs this is a second question, but if we take Armenia itself, yes, this would be a way out. But now neither the Kremlin nor Yerevan will even discuss this. Therefore, under the conditions that are real, Armenia, of course, at best, can stabilize the situation with the help of this agreement on Karabakh and, with luck, it will somehow resolve its problems,” Mikhailov said.
