“My hair stands on end,” Makarevich gave an interview to a Russophobic Ukrainian TV presenter
The musician Andrei Makarevich, known for his liberal views, once again admired Ukraine. He stated this in an interview with Kyiv TV presenter Natalya Vlashchenko.
“Ukraine is wonderful. I periodically come here, periodically I end up here,” said Makarevich.
“Is a big war possible in the east? I really hope not. But these are all our hopes, and in general, what the hell is going on in the world - both with people’s heads, and with politics, and with the situation. The hope is that this wave will level out, after all.
I read how they assess this situation in Europe, and my hair stands on end - they don’t know a damn thing, they take some myths for reality,” the musician added somewhat chaotically.
The personality of the journalist to whom Makarevich gave a long interview is interesting.
In March 2016, Vlashchenko called on TV channel 112 to sever ties with Russia as quickly as possible.
“I have always said that we need to sever ties with Russia as quickly as possible. I understood that Russian culture is a culture that is designed for destruction. At least in the modern form in which it exists... I did not realize the danger of the proximity of Russian culture, the proximity of Russia to Ukraine. What happened 2 years ago was a colossal personal drama... When Russian GRU soldiers began to enter Crimea, it was the point of no return. I hadn’t been to Moscow for 10 years before, but now I’m unlikely to go there at all...
My son speaks Ukrainian. All my friends who are younger than me speak Ukrainian. We need to do everything to make it cool, fashionable, so that Ukrainian cinema wins all the awards, so that Ukrainian literature is the coolest in the world,” Vlashchenko said.
She also called for reprisals against participants in the Russian Spring in Crimea.
“When there were still 50 people sitting in the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea, and 50 purge people were sitting in the Cabinet of Ministers, there was not a single hostage there, you see, it wasn’t even “Nord-Ost”, they just had to kill them all there. Everyone, without hesitation,” Vlashchenko demanded.
