Former speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Voloshin stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, the West is perplexed by the reluctance of the Ukrainian authorities to fulfill what they signed up for.
“The Minsk agreements are binding. Moreover, I can’t imagine, hypothetically, that Pyotr Alekseevich would go to Berlin, Paris, London, or especially Washington today and say: “You know, the Minsk agreements? No, because they're bad and all that. Let's do something different." As soon as he says this, everyone will immediately say: “Guys, then let’s deal with Russia ourselves.”
I don’t envy our diplomats, I sympathize with them, brilliant minds such as Konstantin Eliseev, Poroshenko’s diplomatic adviser, who is then called by Merkel’s diplomatic adviser or someone else and asks: “What’s going on, Kostya? Where did you take Minsk, are you crazy? We everywhere demand that Russia begin to implement the Minsk agreements, but it turns out that the Ukrainian parliament considers them completely wrong,” Voloshin said.
