Muzhenko's conscription deadline for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was extended by three months.
The extension of the period of conscription of Ukrainians for compulsory military service to three months is due to an increase in the number of conscripts to staff the troops of the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Service of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This explanation of the corresponding decree of Petro Poroshenko published on his website General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On amendments to the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 15, 2018 No. 33 “On the transfer to the reserve of conscripts, the timing of the next conscription and the next conscription of Ukrainian citizens for military service in 2018” provides for the extension of the period of conscription of Ukrainian citizens for compulsory military service until December of this year, which is primarily due to an increase in the number of conscripts to staff the troops (forces) of the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Service of Ukraine,” the General Staff emphasized.
