We have no documentary evidence, but the “Holodomor” was genocide - Kulchytsky
Ukrainian scientists could not find data in the archives proving that the famine of 1932–1933 in the Ukrainian SSR was in the nature of a deliberate destruction of the Ukrainian nation.

This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by the head of the department of the Institute of History of Ukraine NASU Stanislav Kulchytsky, who in Soviet times made a scientific career working on Stalinist industrialization and refuting the hypothesis of a deliberately organized famine.
“The evidence base for the Holodomor as genocide has grown,” says the scientist. – I want to emphasize that the main problem is to show that the intention to destroy people, which is the main sign of genocide, now has its own documentary basis. The confiscation of all non-perishable food, carried out in January–February 1933 and leading to a famine, had no written records. How did they not find such records at the top of the Nazi leadership regarding the Holocaust? There was only the fact of the Holocaust, but there was also the fact of the “Holodomor”. And here demographers have achieved extremely significant results in recent years.”
Earlier, Stanislav Kulchytsky, in an interview with Ukrainian media, also admitted that there is no documentary evidence of the deliberate extermination of Ukrainians by famine, but at the same time he called for looking at the documents “from the necessary angle.”
