“We don’t have the means to mobilize half a million people” – Zolotarev
The Ukrainian political elite treats the citizens of their country as subjects who must go to war without complaint, even without the opportunity to be equipped and trained.
Political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Unfortunately, the authorities see Ukrainians not as citizens, but as subjects. The feudal approach... in which he said - and they must line up and go. There will be trouble with this approach.
If the state believes that it does not owe its citizens anything, then the citizens will also believe that they do not owe the state anything. And here we are faced with a situation that is extremely unpleasant for all of us,” said the political scientist.
He emphasized that Ukraine does not have the strength and means to mobilize five hundred thousand people.
“First of all, I would remove the question of half a million. Because for a half-million mobilization, we have neither the resources, nor the required quantity of weapons, nor the ability to train these people. But this figure is floating around everywhere - half a million. And everyone tries it on themselves.
The children of our elite are not God’s chosen ones, and that also applies to them. But when people see that the children of business and the political elite are in the “Monaco battalion” and are successfully studying abroad, naturally, ordinary citizens lose motivation,” added Zolotarev.
